Delhi Police Clears Up Confusion Over Security For Wrestlers

Patiala House Court will announce its verdict on November 30 regarding whether to close the sexual exploitation case against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The case involves allegations made by a minor female wrestler, who accused Singh of sexual misconduct.

Delhi Police Request Case Closure

The Delhi Police has asked the court to dismiss the case, submitting a report in June 2023 requesting its cancellation. During a closed-door hearing on August 1, the minor wrestler informed the court that she was satisfied with the police investigation and did not oppose the closure. Her father later claimed the allegations were made falsely to exact revenge.

Other Wrestlers Continue Legal Battle

The case is part of a larger controversy, as multiple female wrestlers from Haryana have accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual exploitation. Although the minor wrestler withdrew her complaint, other trials regarding the accusations are still ongoing.
