Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has extended the hearing on judicial custody of AAP leader Manish Sisodia till January 10, 2024

The troubles of former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in the alleged excise scam related to Delhi government do not seem to be ending. In the latest case, today on Monday (December 11), Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has extended the hearing on judicial custody of AAP leader Manish Sisodia till January 10, 2024.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia appeared in Rouse Avenue Court on Monday in the excise scam case. The judicial custody of the AAP leader jailed here has been extended till January 10, 2024. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court allowed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) counsel to file additional documents and listed the case for hearing on January 10, 2024.

It is noteworthy that earlier on Tuesday, 21st November, Rouse Avenue Court had extended the judicial custody of Manish Sisodia till 11th December in the Delhi liquor scam case. Hearing the case in detail, Special Judge MK Nagpal had said that many documents were still to be filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the accused persons.

Expressing displeasure on this, the court said that compliance with Section 207 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) should be completed as soon as possible so that the hearing of the case can begin.

The court also issued notice to the ED and listed the case for November 24 to hear arguments on Binay Babu’s interim bail plea.
