Corona: The number of Covid cases in China has raised concerns in a number of nations, particularly because medical professionals fear that this might set off an explosive Covid tsunami that spreads over the whole world. India has released a crucial advice amid these worries.
The Health Ministry has begun to hold a review meeting of the coronavirus situation in India in light of the recent spike in Covid cases in countries such as China, the United States, Japan, and Brazil. It is anticipated that a fresh Covid alert would be released in this respect on Wednesday.
According to official sources, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will assess the pandemic scenario on Wednesday. A new travel warning is anticipated to be released for foreign travel, particularly to Brazil, China, Japan, South Korea, and the US.
In order to maintain track of more recent mutations, the Health Ministry has advised all states and union territories to speed up whole genome sequencing of positive samples.
In a letter to the states and UTs, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan stated that such an effort would allow for the prompt discovery of any novel varieties that could be present in the nation and would make it easier to implement the necessary public health measures.

He highlighted that India with its focus on the five-fold strategy of test-track-treat-vaccination and adherence to Covid-appropriate behavior’s has been able to restrict the transmission of the coronavirus and is having around 1,200 cases on a weekly basis.
Bhushan stated in the health advisory that “it is essential to gear up the whole genome sequencing of positive case samples to track the variants through Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) network in light of the sudden surge of cases being witnessed in Japan, the United States of America, Republic of Korea, Brazil, and China.”
According to sources, he continued, “In this regard, all states are urged to guarantee that samples of all positive cases are transmitted, as far as is practicable, on a daily basis to the authorized INSACOG Genome Laboratories that are linked to states and UTs.
