On Monday, the Congress party unveiled its tenth list of candidates for the impending Lok Sabha elections, revealing the nominees for Maharashtra’s Akola seat and Telangana’s Warangal seat. The announcement of the candidate for Akola marks the conclusion of speculation regarding a potential alliance with Prakash Ambedkar’s Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) in Maharashtra. Abhay Kashinath Patil, representing the Congress party, will go head-to-head against VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar in the electoral fray.
The forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be conducted in seven phases beginning on April 19, will determine the representatives for 543 parliamentary seats. Approximately 97 crore voters are eligible to exercise their voting rights in this crucial general election.
