Congress and BJP held their legislature party meetings on Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming Assembly session starting Thursday.
BJP Meeting: Absentees and Key Messages
The BJP legislature party meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s Residence. Notably, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was absent from the meeting. She is currently attending the Maha Kumbh, where she participated in a puja with her family and took a dip at the Triveni Sangam Ghat.
Despite Raje’s absence, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma led the meeting, urging MLAs to maintain a positive approach during the Assembly session. He emphasized the importance of being prepared to respond effectively if the opposition attempts to disrupt proceedings.
Additionally, Sharma challenged the Congress government, claiming that the BJP’s one-year tenure had outperformed the previous administration in terms of employment and development.
He also advised MLAs to show respect to party workers, calling them “lawyers” who advocate for their leaders.
Congress Meeting: Key Leaders Missing
Meanwhile, Congress held its own legislature party meeting, where key figures such as former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Congress National General Secretary Sachin Pilot were absent.
Gehlot is currently on a tour in Mumbai, while Pilot is busy campaigning for the Delhi elections. Despite their absence, Congress members discussed strategies ahead of the Assembly session.
Kirodi Lal Meena’s Absence Raises Questions
While the BJP meeting was in full swing, Minister Kirodi Lal Meena was a notable absentee. He was touring Sawai Madhopur and conducting a public hearing at the Municipal Council.
His absence from the ministerial meeting stirred political discussions, especially since Meena had tendered his resignation some time ago, which the government has not yet accepted.
Preparing For Assembly Session
Ahead of the Assembly session, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma convened a meeting of the Council of Ministers, instructing them to be well-prepared with their responses for the upcoming legislative debates.
With the session beginning on Thursday, both Congress and BJP are preparing for a critical round of discussions and potential confrontations in the House.
