CM Yogi Adityanath Reviews ODOP Exhibition At Maha Kumbh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj on Sunday to review the One District One Product (ODOP) exhibition organized in the fair area of the Maha Kumbh.

He called the exhibition a landmark initiative to promote Uttar Pradesh’s handicrafts and cottage industries.

During his visit, CM Yogi interacted with artisans from across the state, encouraging them and appreciating their craftsmanship.

He remarked, “The ODOP exhibition at Maha Kumbh is a unique platform for artisans to showcase their products. With over 45 crore devotees expected to attend the Maha Kumbh from around the world, this event offers artisans a golden opportunity for branding, income generation, and employment creation.”

Global Recognition Of UP’s ODOP Initiative

CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the global recognition of UP’s ODOP initiative, stating that the exhibition allows district-level entrepreneurs to explore international business opportunities during the 45-day event, thereby expanding their businesses and creating new jobs.

The ODOP exhibition spans an impressive 6,000 square meters at the Sangam in Prayagraj.

It features a wide range of items, including carpets, zari-zardosi work, glass toys from Firozabad, and wooden toys from Banaras, attracting significant attention from visiting devotees.

In 2019, a similar ODOP exhibition generated business worth Rs 4.3 crore.

This year, the estimated business is expected to reach Rs 35 crore, paving the way for fresh employment and entrepreneurial growth.

Artisans from Kashi are showcasing 75 distinct products at the exhibition, including Banarasi brocade, wooden toys, metal repousse, and metal casting.

A total of 75 GI-tagged products from across Uttar Pradesh are on display, such as Banarasi sarees, Pratapgarh’s Amla, Mirzapur’s brassware, and Gorakhpur’s terracotta.

Major attractions also include carpets from Kushinagar and glass toys from Firozabad, with 34 of these GI-tagged items originating from the Kashi region.

Maha Kumbh 2025 has evolved into more than a spiritual and cultural event. It now serves as a vibrant platform for entrepreneurs, drawing national and international buyers to admire and purchase the artisans’ products, further boosting the state’s economic and cultural identity.
