Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed confidence that the High Court’s recent decision allowing prosecution against him in the MUDA case will be overturned soon. Following the court’s dismissal of his petition, Siddaramaiah emphasized his commitment to cooperating with any investigation.
In a statement, Siddaramaiah said he learned of the High Court’s ruling through the media and plans to review the order before commenting further. He noted that the court rejected the prosecution sanction granted by the Governor under Section 218 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
“I do not shy away from any investigation. I will consult legal experts regarding the permissible scope of this investigation,” he stated, asserting that he would determine his next steps after these consultations.

Siddaramaiah pointed out that the complainant initially sought permission for an investigation under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, but the Governor had denied permission for prosecution under Section 19. He expressed confidence that the truth would ultimately prevail and that the investigation sanctioned under Section 17(A) would be nullified.
“The people of the state support me in this political battle. Their blessings are my protection. I believe in the law and the Constitution,” he declared. He described the case as part of a broader political struggle against what he termed “vengeful politics” from the ruling BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP and JD(S) for allegedly attempting to undermine his government and its welfare schemes aimed at the poor and marginalized. He claimed that the current allegations are merely a distraction from the successful initiatives he implemented during his previous term as Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also claimed that the BJP has not secured a clear majority in Karnataka and has come to power through unethical practices, including “Operation Kamala.” He accused the BJP and JD(S) of using the Raj Bhavan to disrupt opposition-led governments across the country, asserting that they will face defeat in his case as well.
Siddaramaiah concluded by reaffirming his belief that the support of the people will enable him to triumph over these challenges.
