Eklavya Award will be increased from 15 to 20, Vikram Award will be increased from 12 to 20 and Vishwamitra Award will be increased from 3 to 5. The prize money of players who earn medals at the Olympic Games, Asian Games and other international levels will be doubled. Prize money will also be given to the players who secured fourth place in the said competitions. The above announcements were made by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Tatya Tope Stadium on Saturday. He was inaugurating ‘Madhya Pradesh Sports Decoration Ceremony 2021-22’ and Khelo India Centres.
Salaries of sports department employees to be increased
During this, the Chief Minister also bestowed many gifts for the expansion of sports in the state. The Chief Minister said that the service conditions of the chief technical advisors, trainers etc. of the Sports Academy will be made more useful. Their honorarium will be increased. Rs 5 lakh will be given every year to the state level sports association for conducting regular activities of the sports association.
Sports department to be restructured
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the staff of the Sports Department will be restructured, in which the post of Director General Sports will also be created. An international level swimming pool and cycling ballodrome will be constructed along with a cricket stadium in the International Sports Complex Nathu Barkheda.
Seats will be increased in sports academies
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that in view of the excellent performance of the sports academies of the state, the seats of players will also increase. Making another important announcement, CM Shivraj said that posts will be reserved for recruitment from sportsperson quota in every department.
