Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday held a high-level meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, reinforcing the Centre–State coordination framework driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance vision.
The meeting held significant political and administrative importance. It marked Nitish Kumar’s first direct engagement with the central leadership after the NDA’s decisive Assembly election victory in Bihar. The interaction took place under PM Modi’s overarching leadership.
Nitish Kumar arrived in Delhi on Sunday and began a series of meetings with senior NDA leaders on Monday. The move signalled an early push to align Bihar’s development roadmap with PM Modi’s national priorities.
His interaction with Amit Shah lasted nearly an hour, during which both leaders discussed a wide spectrum of political, developmental, and governance-related issues concerning Bihar.
Sources said the leaders focused the talks on accelerating key development projects in Bihar.
They also worked to improve administrative coordination between the Centre and the state and ensure effective implementation of PM Modi’s flagship schemes.
The meeting reviewed recent political developments and examined strategies to maintain NDA cohesion as the new government takes charge.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and JD(U) MP and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh attended the meeting, highlighting the collective NDA approach under PM Modi’s leadership.
The presence of senior leaders underscored the importance of alignment between the state government and the Modi-led Centre.
Political sources also suggested that discussions touched upon the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, adding a strategic dimension to the engagement.

Following the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary posted on X, stating, “Nitish Kumar met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. The double-engine government is working at double speed for a developed Bihar.”

Nitish Kumar’s Delhi visit comes close on the heels of his government unveiling an ambitious development roadmap for Bihar, closely aligned with PM Modi’s national development agenda.
Analysts view the meeting as a clear signal that the Bihar government intends to move swiftly on governance, infrastructure expansion, and welfare delivery.
In the recently concluded Assembly elections, the NDA registered a landslide victory and won 202 seats in Bihar.
