Mohan Majh, the first BJP Chief Minister of Odisha, took oath on Wednesday.
The swearing-in-ceremony at Janata Maidan was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Numerous Central Ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and party President J.P. Nadda were also present. Odisha Governor Raghubar Das administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mohan Majhi and his Council of Ministers.
Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, a six-time MLA from Patnagarh became the Deputy Chief Minister. The first-time MLA from Nimapara, Pravati Parida, also took oath as Deputy Chief Minister.
The state Governor administered an oath to 8 cabinet and 5 state ministers with independent charge as well.
Bibhuti Bhushan Jena of Gopalpur, Mukesh Mahaling of Loisingha, Chilika MLA Prithiviraj Harichandan, Umerkote MLA Nityananda Gond, veteran leader and Brajrajnagar MLA Suresh Pujari, and Dhenkanal MLA Krushna Chandra Patra were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers.
Jashipur MLA Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Dhamnagar MLA Suryabanshi Suraj, Sukinda MLA Pradeep Bal Samanta, Polasara MLA Gokulananda Mallik, and Paradeep MLA Sampad Chandra Swain were sworn in as state ministers with independent charge.
9 Chief Ministers who are currently heading the states ruled by BJP also attended the event.
Later on Wednesday evening, the first BJP government in Odisha is expected to take several important decisions.
