The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) denied any shortcomings in managing the December 19 Parliament scuffle near Makar Dwar gate. The clash injured BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput.
CISF Stands By Protocols
CISF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shrikant Kishore stated the force acted according to protocol during the Parliament scuffle. “There was no lapse on the part of CISF,” he said firmly. Kishore also clarified that no inquiry is being conducted by CISF regarding the incident.
Parliament Scuffle Leaves MPs Injured
The altercation occurred just before Parliament convened at 11 AM. Sarangi suffered a deep forehead cut, while Rajput fainted due to high blood pressure. Both were later admitted to ICU at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

The ruckus began when BJP MPs protested Congress’s alleged disrespect toward Dr. BR Ambedkar. As Rahul Gandhi approached the group, a scuffle ensued.
Sarangi claimed Rahul shoved Rajput, causing both MPs to fall. The 70-year-old MP also sustained injuries to his knee.
The BJP accused Rahul Gandhi of “physical aggression,” branding his actions “goonish.” Congress MPs countered, alleging Rahul was manhandled by three BJP MPs.
The incident has escalated tensions between the two parties, with no resolution in sight.
