Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) notified Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court on Tuesday that it will submit a final chargesheet in the land for jobs case in two weeks, reported ANI. On March 14, a hearing is scheduled for the case involving Lalu Yadav, the former chief minister of Bihar and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), along with his spouse Rabri Devi and their son Tejashwi Yadav, who was previously Bihar’s deputy chief minister.

The case concerns alleged appointments made to the Indian Railways in exchange for land transfers to the Yadav family, which occurred during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure as Union Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009.
In relation to the purported land-for-jobs scheme, Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and Rabri Devi were granted bail by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court in October of last year. After receiving the summons against them, they showed up in the CBI special court.
On July 3, the CBI filed a fresh chargesheet against Lalu and others. The chargesheet referred to “irregular/ illegal appointments of candidates in the Central Railways, violating the norms, guidelines, and procedure of railways.”
According to the agency, the selected candidates sold land to Lalu Yadav’s family at a discount of one-fourth to one-fifth of the current market price, either directly or through close relatives or family members.The head of RJD was further charged by the CBI with being part of a “criminal conspiracy” alongside his wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharati, Central Railway employees, and other individuals.
The chargesheet was the second in the case and was registered on July 3. Tejashwi Yadav was not included in the original charge sheet as an accused person.
