‘CBI Probe Needed’: Manish Jaiswal Meets Amit Shah Over Jharkhand Exam Irregularities

Amid widespread protests by Jharkhand job aspirants, BJP MP from Hazaribagh Manish Jaiswal met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital and sought a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC-CGL recruitment examinations.

The meeting came as thousands of students staged a Vidhan Sabha Gherao march in Ranchi on the 17th day of their protest.

Manish Jaiswal raised concerns over alleged irregularities and the alleged buying and selling of seats in the recruitment examinations. He questioned the state government’s ongoing CID inquiry and sought an impartial investigation by the CBI.

Jaiswal told the Home Minister that the issue extends beyond recruitment examinations and concerns the future of more than five lakh candidates in Jharkhand and their faith in the government recruitment system. He also raised concerns over the state’s law and order situation, organised crime, illegal activities and the alleged looting of mineral wealth.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of clashes between protesting students and police during the march towards the Jharkhand Assembly.

As protesters approached the Assembly, police used water cannons, tear gas shells and baton charges to disperse them.

The protesters continued to break barricades and attempted to reach the Assembly premises while raising concerns over alleged recruitment examination irregularities.

During the meeting, the Hazaribagh MP also highlighted concerns over the expanding illegal drug trade in various areas of Jharkhand, including Hazaribagh and Ramgarh.

Manish Jaiswal also briefed the Home Minister on the broader law and order situation in the state and alleged growth of organised crime and other illegal activities.
