Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a significant journey to the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, a border state in India, where he engaged in a spiritual and cultural expedition. During his visit, he paid his respects at the Gauri Kund, a sacred site for Hindus, and had the privilege of witnessing the majestic Adi Kailash. Furthermore, it is expected that he will also have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Om Parvat during his helicopter journey.
Expressing his sentiments, PM Modi conveyed, “I am overwhelmed with the darshan and worship at the holy Parvati Kund of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. I am also happy to catch a glimpse of Adi Kailash from here. From this place of spirituality and culture nestled in the lap of nature, I wished a happy life for all family members.” He shared these thoughts on his social media platform, formerly known as Twitter.
The Prime Minister commenced his day-long visit with a view of the Adi Kailash peak, which is considered the abode of Lord Shiva. Dressed in traditional attire, complete with a white turban and a ‘ranga’ (upper body garment), he also conducted aarti (a religious ritual) at the Shiva Parvati temple situated on the banks of Parvati Kund in Jolingkong. Here, he meditated with folded hands before the awe-inspiring Adi Kailash peak.
Continuing his journey, PM Modi reached the Gunji village, where he interacted with local residents and attended an exhibition that featured local artifacts. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami accompanied him during these interactions.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Jageshwar Dham, an ancient Shiva temple located about 15 kilometers from Gunji. Here, he will offer prayers before partaking in a traditional Kumaoni lunch.
Later in the day, PM Modi will return to Pithoragarh, where he will lay the foundation stone for several developmental projects amounting to ₹4,200 crore. Additionally, he will address a public meeting, underlining the government’s commitment to the region’s progress and welfare.
