Troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) made a significant discovery in Punjab’s Amritsar district as they recovered a China-made drone on Tuesday. The drone was found outside a residence in Hardo Rattan village.

The Punjab Frontier’s Public Relations Officer stated, “On May 7, 2024, acting on specific intelligence about a drone’s presence in the border area of Amritsar district, BSF troops initiated a thorough search operation.” The operation yielded results around 12:5 pm when troops successfully retrieved a drone from the vicinity of a house in Hardo Rattan village. Identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, the recovered drone marks another instance of such findings in the region.

Just days before this discovery, on Sunday, BSF personnel recovered a damaged drone from a harvesting field near Ratan Khurd village in Amritsar district.

This recent find follows an earlier incident on May 5, when an ex-serviceman residing in a border village of Gurdaspur district alerted the BSF intelligence wing about a drone in the border area. Acting swiftly on this information, BSF troops conducted a thorough search, resulting in the recovery of another damaged drone from a farming field near Haruwal in Gurdaspur district. Once again, the recovered drone was identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic.

The BSF commended the contribution of a vigilant ex-BSF personnel, acknowledging that their timely information thwarted an attempted drone intrusion across the border.
