The Pakistan Rangers’ “unprovoked firing” along the India-Pakistan international border in the Jammu sector was recounted in detail by the Border Security Force on Friday. They said that India’s Forward Defense Posts responded in a “befitting manner.”
“On October 26, 2023, at approximately 2:00 PM, Pakistan Rangers opened fire without warning in Sector Jammu along the Indo-Pak International Border. BSF troops responded to the firing by retaliating right away. Then, Pak Rangers continued to fire at our nearby BOPs, which prompted appropriate retribution from our own Forward Defense Posts in these locations,” the statement read.
According to the BSF, Pakistani forces began firing mortars into civilian areas and border outposts at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Thursday. A woman was injured when some rounds fell in the town of Arnia. Afterwards, they struck Indian positions along the boundary with heavy machine gun fire.
“Pakistan Rangers attacked our posts at around 2240 hours with heavy machine gun fire from Pakistan; our own forces appropriately replied. Around 270108 hours, Pakistani Rangers opened fire on our BOPs once more, which sparked a firefight and sufficient counterattack by our own soldiers, the statement continued.

“CT Basava Raj suffered minor splinter injuries from shelling in both hands at approximately 2200 hours during the cross-border fire. The injured person was taken to PHC Arnia right away, and then they were admitted to GMCH Jammu. The person’s health is stable,” it continued.
Panic was brought on by Pakistan’s fire in civilian areas. A few homes suffered damage.

“Overnight, Pakistan fired a great deal. Houses were damaged, but no one was hurt. It has been nearly six years since Pakistani shootings of this type have been observed. Dev Raj Chowdhary, Sarpanch of the border village Bulleh Chak in Sai Kalan, Arnia in the RS Pura sector in Jammu, told ANI that “our security forces retaliated to the firing.”
