K Kavita, the 46-year-old leader of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), currently held in Tihar Jail in connection with a corruption case related to Delhi’s liquor policy, has had her judicial custody extended by the Rouse Avenue Court until July 22.
Following her fainting spell in jail, she was initially taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for medical assessment, where she was treated for gynaecological issues and high fever.
Subsequently, the court has directed her referral to AIIMS for further medical examination and has requested a medical report from the institute.
Kavita was arrested on March 15 in Hyderabad by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of a money laundering investigation linked to the Delhi Excise Policy.
