Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in New Delhi on Saturday and discussed fresh avenues for advancing bilateral relations.
The leaders met alongside the 18th BRICS Summit and reviewed opportunities to broaden the India-UAE Strategic Partnership across several important sectors.
PM Modi described the recent transformation in India-UAE relations and stressed the need to pursue greater ambitions in the partnership.
The Prime Minister identified investment and strategic energy infrastructure as areas with significant potential for deeper cooperation between the two countries. He highlighted the importance of connectivity through the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) amid continuing uncertainty in West Asia.
PM Modi praised the UAE for its active and constructive contribution to BRICS during India’s 2026 Chairship.
The Ministry of External Affairs said both leaders welcomed the progress achieved within BRICS and agreed to maintain close coordination through the grouping. They will continue working together to promote common interests and strengthen cooperation among BRICS members.
The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which draws strength from political, cultural, commercial, energy and people-to-people ties. They further recalled UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to India in January 2026 and PM Modi’s visit to the UAE in May 2026.
The leaders reviewed developments across multiple areas of bilateral cooperation and agreed to build on the momentum in relations.
