India will host the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 12-13, bringing together leaders from BRICS member and partner countries, along with outreach invitees.

The summit will focus on strengthening cooperation and addressing global and regional issues of shared interest.

India’s BRICS Chairship follows the theme ‘Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability’, reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a people-centric approach guided by the spirit of ‘Humanity First’.

The two-day summit will build on more than 350 meetings and high-level engagements held across over 25 Indian cities during the year. These initiatives have advanced cooperation across BRICS’ three key pillars: political and security, economic and financial, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

India began its fourth BRICS Chairship on January 1, 2026, after previously chairing the grouping in 2012, 2016 and 2021. BRICS marks its 20th anniversary this year.

The BRICS logo for India’s Chairship combines traditional elements with a modern design. Its colourful petals represent the member countries’ collective strength and unity, while the central ‘Namaste’ gesture reflects warmth, respect and harmonious cooperation.

BRICS currently comprises Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. Its partner countries include Belarus, Cuba, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

The grouping continues to expand cooperation on issues including counter-terrorism, climate change, food and energy security, trade, agriculture, employment, telecommunications, international financial architecture and the global economic and financial system.
