The first alert came from Burari Hospital around 3:15 pm, followed by Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital at 4:26 pm. Additional hospitals, including Hindu Rao Hospital, also reported similar threats.
Emergency services, including bomb disposal squads and fire tenders, were deployed to the affected locations. Despite thorough searches, no suspicious items were found initially. The situation escalated when a bomb threat was reported at the Indira Gandhi International Airport around 6:15 pm, prompting further action from the authorities.
This incident mirrors recent occurrences in Delhi and Ahmedabad, where over 130 schools received identical threat emails just days prior. The threats caused widespread panic, leading to evacuations and thorough searches of the educational institutions.
In response, Delhi Police have initiated investigations and reached out to Mail.ru, a Russian mailing service company, via Interpol to trace the origin of the emails. An FIR has been filed against unknown individuals, highlighting the serious nature of the threats and their potential to disrupt public order.
