BJP’s Agenda Of ‘Viksit Bharat’ Discussed Firmly Ahead Of Lok Sabha Elections 2024

In his chairing of the council of ministers meeting on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a five-year plan for implementing the “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision in the event that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) forms a government following the forthcoming April–May 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

100 day action plan

According to officials aware of the day-long exercise, during the meeting, a 100-day action plan was discussed for the immediate steps to be taken to implement the NDA’s five-year plan after a new government is formed in May.

According to government sources, the “Viksit Bharat” roadmap is the outcome of over two years of intense planning, involving a “whole of government” approach involving all ministries and extensive consultations with state governments, academic institutions, business associations, civil society, scientific organizations, and youth mobilization for input.

The agenda of “Viksit Bharat”

The NDA has expressed strong confidence in winning with a sweeping majority, and the March 3 meeting of the council of ministers is said to be the final one before the Lok Sabha elections.

Throughout the past few years, PM Modi’s speeches have centered mostly on the Viksit Bharat vision. The prime minister has outlined his government’s plan of action to make India a developed country precisely one hundred years after it gained independence from British rule, in 2047.

Modi discussed the five-year plan for Viksit Bharat 2047 on Sunday, which included a well-worded list of national objectives, goals, and action items. The Viksit Bharat vision is centred on infrastructure, social welfare, economic growth, sustainable development objectives, ease of living and doing business, and more.

The promise of third largest economy

As per Modi’s earlier statements, the objective of the Viksit Bharat vision is to facilitate every citizen’s participation in the economy. If the NDA regains power, one of the most important aspects of this action plan is to make India the third-largest economy in the world within the next five years.

Heavyweights like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were included in the BJP’s initial list of 195 candidates for the upcoming general elections, which was released on Saturday. With 28 women, 27 scheduled caste candidates, 18 from scheduled tribes, and 57 from other backward classes (OBCs), the BJP’s first list of candidates features a wide variety of candidates.
