The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks, labeling them as indicative of a “misogynistic mindset.” Despite this, opposition parties stood in support of Gandhi, defending his comments, wherein he accused the government of exploiting central agencies for electoral gains.

Nalin Kohli, a BJP leader, condemned Gandhi’s skepticism towards Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), deeming it an affront to Indian voters. He asserted that by casting such aspersions, Congress and Rahul Gandhi insulted the electorate, which holds the power to shape India’s future. Kohli emphasized Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to national development by 2047.

Shehzad Poonawalla, another BJP figure, criticized Gandhi for allegedly opposing “nari shakti” (women power) and accused the Congress party of harboring anti-Hindu sentiments. Poonawalla cited instances of alleged Hindu disparagement by Congress leaders and claimed that Gandhi’s remarks reflected a misogynistic stance.

Tarun Chugh, a BJP national general secretary, accused Rahul Gandhi of viewing India through the lens of a foreigner, referring to his Italian heritage. Chugh accused Gandhi of attempting to defame the nation and destabilize it through continuous derogatory remarks against various institutions and sections of society.

In a rally attended by leaders of the INDIA bloc, Rahul Gandhi asserted that the integrity of EVMs had been compromised, claiming they had been handed over to the ruling party. He alleged that not only EVMs but also key institutions like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Income Tax department had surrendered their autonomy to the central government.
