
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday paid heartfelt tributes to former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on his death anniversary.
Party leaders hailed his sharp intellect, oratory skills, and guiding role in shaping India’s governance and nurturing young leaders.
Senior leaders, including Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, offered floral tributes at Jaitley’s bust in Arun Jaitley Park, New Delhi.

Former BJP MP Jaya Prada also paid floral tributes, remembering Jaitley as a highly intellectual leader and excellent parliamentarian. She recalled his role in introducing key financial reforms as Finance Minister, adding that his legacy continues to live in people’s hearts.
Jaitley’s Life and Legacy
Born on December 28, 1952, in Delhi to a Punjabi family that migrated from Lahore during Partition, Arun Jaitley built a career as a Supreme Court lawyer before rising as one of the BJP’s most influential leaders.
He served as Union Finance Minister from 2014 to 2019, steering several landmark economic reforms during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first term. His career, however, was cut short by prolonged illness.
After multiple surgeries, Jaitley passed away on August 23, 2019, leaving behind a lasting political and economic legacy.
