BJP MP Manoj Tiwari Threatens Legal Action Over Viral Fake Statement

BJP MP and popular Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari has strongly rejected a viral statement falsely attributed to him on social media.

Social media users have widely circulated the purported quote, “We carry rupees in our pockets, what do we care about dollars?”

Tiwari categorically denied making the statement and labelled it entirely fabricated.

Speaking to the media, he revealed that several friends and supporters had shared screenshots of the viral content with him.

“I was shocked when I saw this. I have never made such a statement. It is 100% fake and fabricated,” he said.

The MP clarified that his actual stance has always encouraged citizens to adopt cashless and digital payment methods.

“I consistently urge people not to carry large sums of cash. Open bank accounts, use UPI, and strengthen Digital India. Some individuals are distorting my past statements to create fake news,” Tiwari explained.

Tiwari expressed concern over the impact of misinformation. He stated that unchecked fake news poses a danger to both democracy and the public.

“The media has a responsibility to present only verified facts. Spreading unverified content is harmful to society,” he added.

Taking a firm stance, Tiwari warned that all platforms, YouTube channels, news portals, and journalists responsible for circulating the false statement would face consequences. He further added that they will soon receive legal notices.

“I will not tolerate manipulation of my image. This is a deliberate act of misinformation,” he asserted.

Tiwari appealed to the public to verify information before sharing it on social media.

“Do not blindly trust everything you see online. Check the facts before forwarding. Preventing fake news is everyone’s responsibility,” he urged.
