As the November 13 Bihar Assembly by-elections approach, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday has ramped up its campaign efforts by announcing 40 prominent leaders to serve as star campaigners.
This strategic move aims to boost the party’s visibility and influence in the four constituencies where voting will take place.
Leading the charge are Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha.
The party’s campaign will also feature several Union Ministers, including Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey, and Raj Bhushan Nishad, all of whom are likely to play vital roles in rallying support for the BJP’s candidates.
In addition to the high-profile leaders, the list of star campaigners includes notable figures such as Vinod Tawde, Nagendra Nath Tripathi, and Radha Mohan Singh, among others.
This diverse group of campaigners reflects the party’s commitment to engaging voters across different demographics and regions within Bihar.
The BJP will contest two of the four assembly seats – Tarari and Ramgarh – while also supporting candidates from allied parties.
In Imamganj, the party backs Deepa Manjhi from Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and in Belaganj, it is supporting Manorama Devi from the Janata Dal (United).
With the deadline for filing nominations set for 25 October and a grace period for withdrawals until 30 October, the political landscape is heating up.
Voting for the by-elections will occur on 13 November, with results expected to be announced on 23 November.
The BJP’s proactive approach signals its determination to strengthen its foothold in Bihar as the party gears up for what could be a significant electoral showdown in the state.
