The son of Ramlallu Vaish, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Madhya Pradesh, allegedly shot a tribal man named Surya Prakash Khairbar in Singrauli district. The accused individual, identified as Vivek Vaish, reportedly engaged in an argument that escalated into violence as he was getting into a car. During the heated exchange, Vivek fired a shot, hitting Khairbar’s hand. Singrauli’s Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Yusuf Quarashi, confirmed these details and indicated that appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code have been applied in the registered case.

In a separate incident earlier in July, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made headlines when he publicly expressed regret for an incident involving a tribal youth named Dashmat Rawat. Chouhan invited Rawat to his residence in Bhopal and performed a symbolic foot-washing ceremony as a gesture of apology. This action was in response to a video from three months prior, in which Pravesh Shukla, allegedly associated with the BJP, had urinated on Rawat in Siddhi district. The video had recently gone viral, causing significant controversy in the state’s political arena.
