The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) compares the recent attack on former US President Donald Trump to the violent narrative the INDIA bloc and Congress promote against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP workers in India.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla addressed the issue on Monday, highlighting concerns over the political violence that led to the incident involving Trump, who fortunately escaped unharmed.

He questioned the conditions in a democratic nation like the US that foster such hostility and suggested that similar efforts are underway in India.

In a statement on social media platform X, Poonawalla accused the opposition, particularly Congress and its allies, of fostering a narrative rife with aggression against PM Modi and his supporters.

He claimed that the opposition is perpetuating fears that the continuation of the BJP government would lead to the dismantling of the Constitution, the end of democracy, and the elimination of elections.

Referencing previous derogatory comments made by Congress leaders toward PM Modi, Poonawalla pointed out that the opposition has historically celebrated attacks against him, whether during his time as Gujarat’s Chief Minister or as Prime Minister.

He argued that this demonstrates a broader strategy among what he calls “Islamic leftist forces” to create hostility towards non-leftist, popular, and nationalist leaders.

Poonawalla called for Congress and its supporters to reconsider their approach, questioning whether they will cease their ‘misleading propaganda’ in light of the ongoing political climate.
