Hours after the Supreme Court declined to order a re-test for the NEET-UG 2024 examination, ruling that there was no systemic breach in the exam except in Hazaribagh and Patna, the BJP launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
On Friday, Amit Malviya, head of the BJP’s National Information & Technology Department, took to social media platform X to demand an apology from Gandhi. “Third Time Fail Rahul Gandhi must apologize to the nation on the floor of the Parliament,” Malviya wrote.
The Supreme Court’s decision came after extensive deliberation on allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities associated with the medical entrance exam. The Court further criticized the National Testing Agency (NTA) for its inconsistent handling of the exam and urged it to address the identified deficiencies.

Moreover, in a three-judge bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, the Court determined that a re-test was unnecessary and emphasized the need for the expert committee to correct flaws in the examination system.
Criticism of Rahul Gandhi
The BJP, buoyed by the Court’s ruling, intensified its criticism of Gandhi, accusing him of undermining public confidence in the examination system for political gain. Malviya condemned Gandhi’s actions, alleging that he was attempting to destabilize trust in various institutions, including the Armed Forces, Judiciary, and Election Commission of India.
Gandhi had previously criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his perceived inaction regarding the NEET-UG 2024 irregularities. In a post on X, Gandhi had claimed that Modi’s silence was jeopardizing the futures of over 24 lakh students and suggested that BJP-ruled states like Bihar, Gujarat, and Haryana were at the center of a corruption scandal involving the exam process.
However, the Supreme Court had also expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the NEET-UG 2024 exam, stating that even the slightest negligence should be rigorously addressed.
