The central government’s plan to send a multi-party delegation to major world capitals has received support from both the ruling BJP and the Congress. The move aims to expose Pakistan’s role in the Pahalgam terror attack and cross-border terrorism.
Leaders from both parties welcomed the decision. They called it a positive step to boost India’s global standing and counter Pakistan’s false claims.
The delegation will highlight the success of Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Officials said the operation focused solely on terrorist camps and avoided civilian harm.
In addition, the team will counter Pakistan’s misinformation campaign, which wrongly portrays India as the aggressor. Pakistan has tried to internationalise the Kashmir issue, a stance India strongly rejects.
“This international outreach is necessary,” said a Congress leader. “But the government should also disclose the Prime Minister’s international engagements over the past 11 years and name countries that support India’s stand.”
Sources said the delegation will brief foreign governments on the facts surrounding the Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 civilians. It will also offer details on Operation Sindoor and India’s counter-terror efforts.
If approved, this will be the first time the Modi government sends an all-party group of elected leaders as diplomatic envoys. The aim is to present a united national front and refute Pakistan’s propaganda directly.
The move also responds to past remarks by former US President Donald Trump, who offered to mediate on Kashmir—an idea India firmly rejected, insisting the issue remains bilateral.
