Bihar 2025 Election Results Live Updates: Record Turnout Sets Stage For High-Stakes NDA–MGB Battle

Bihar stands poised for a decisive day on Thursday, 14 November 2025, as counting begins for the state Assembly elections.

Polling concluded peacefully earlier this week on 11 November (Tuesday), with the Election Commission of India (ECI) confirming a record voter turnout of 67.13%, the highest the state has seen since 1951.

Of the total voters, 62.98% were men, while 71.78% of women cast their ballots — setting a new benchmark for women’s participation in the electoral process.

The ECI reported that the election was conducted smoothly, with no cases of malpractice or discrepancies found, and therefore no re-polling was ordered at any of the 90,740 polling booths across the state.

Exit Polls Predict an NDA Edge

Exit polls released after voting point to a likely victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), although predictions vary in terms of the margin.

Axis My India predicts a narrow win for the NDA, projecting 121–141 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan (MGB), led by the RJD, is set to secure 98–118 seats. The Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) is likely to win between 0 and 2 seats.

In contrast, Today’s Chanakya predicted a resounding BJP victory, estimating 160 seats for the saffron party, 77 for the RJD, and six for others.

An average of nine exit polls projected the NDA to secure around 147 seats in the 243-member Assembly, indicating that the alliance could comfortably form the next government.

Despite the predictions, both political blocs remain confident of victory.

The NDA alliance, comprising the BJP, JD(U), and their partners, has expressed optimism, celebrating the strong voter turnout as a sign of public endorsement of their governance model.

The Mahagathbandhan, however, has dismissed the exit polls, asserting that the ground reality reflects an undercurrent of change.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has claimed that the alliance will surprise observers with its performance.

Adding to the political buzz, Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor described the exit polls as ‘fake’, asserting that Bihar is on the verge of a ‘historic transformation’.

A Defining Moment for Bihar

As counting begins, anticipation grips Bihar.

Women voters have made their presence felt, and the smooth polling process showcases the state’s strong democratic spirit.

The results will decide whether the NDA retains power or the Mahagathbandhan stages an upset, shaping Bihar’s political landscape for years to come.
