Big Flaw In IT Investigation, More Than 25 Insurance Companies On Radar, DGCI Issues Notice

The investigation into the claims of tax evasion made against insurance firms by the Income Tax Department is now complete. In which the department has learned that insurance businesses have been involved in hundreds of crores of dollars worth of tax evasion.

The Income Tax Department’s investigation into its allegations of tax fraud against insurance companies is now finished and has concluded that the tax evasion accusations were true. In which it was discovered that insurance firms’ commission payments constituted more than 15,000 crores in tax avoidance.

The Income Tax Department’s Investigation Wing estimates that around Rs 4,500 crore in taxes are collected from insurance businesses. More than 25 insurance firms and more than 250 enterprises are reportedly implicated in this situation, according to the IT report. who used to pay the agents’ commission. However, since March 2023, 30 corporations have received show-cause warnings in this case from DGCI.
