Notably, Maharashtra is the largest producer and consumer of electricity in India. Maharashtra is known as one of the leading states in the power sector in rural electrification, renewable energy development, capacity enhancement and regulatory institution creation. However, despite all the efforts of the government in the field of energy, the state is facing many challenges.
Apart from schemes like free electricity for farmers, Mukhyamantri Solar Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0, low tariff for people, subsidy for farmers and MSME, the government is working keeping in mind the needs of different consumers.
