GeeKen-MD-Kedarnath-Pandey
GeeKen’s Managing Director (MD) Kedarnath Pandey, a special guest in the ‘Baat Shri Ram Ki’ conclave organised by Bharat Express News Network, explained the importance of the glory of the name of Ram in Ayodhya. He told the Maharishi Valmiki story right there on stage. “Kashi-Mathura is the next in line, following Ayodhya,” he said.
When asked what is Lord Ram to you? Kedarnath Pandey said, “Ram’s name has such great importance.” You are probably aware that Maharishi Valmiki Ratnakar was referred to as a dacoit in mythology. He was considered a killer. Thus, Brahmaji sent his son Narad Muni to him for Ratnakar to learn and refrain from sin. Narad Muni visited Ratnakar dressed like a saint. Then Ratnakar commanded, keep the Dand Kamandal here. Give me all that you have.
The sages said that you are committing a big sin and you will ultimately have to bear the consequences of your actions. Ratnakar was not in accord. Afterward, the wise man said, Okay, you bind us to this tree and proceed to your residence to ascertain who will be held accountable for your actions.
Ratnakar returned home and asked his family, “Will everyone be held accountable for this sin or not?” referencing the money and other items he had taken. Family members warned him that it is you who shall face the consequences this made Ratnakar feel guilty for the sins he committed and he returned to the sages.
Ratnakar in remorse stoops at Sage’s feet and says “Whatever I have done so far, how can I be liberated?” You chant Ram’s name, the sage said. He asserted he didn’t know how to do that. He uttered “Mara, Mara,” The sage then advised that you just say “Mara..Mara” and that it would be alright. He then began reciting the name of Ram every day. He learned what was right and wrong. He later got to be known as Maharishi Valmiki and resembled Brahma.
