The MG & G Area of the Indian Army, in collaboration with ‘Fitistan – Ek Fit Bharat’, is organizing the ‘ONGC Mumbai Kargil Soldierthon’ on Sunday, July 28th, at the Military Station in Colaba, Mumbai. This event, marking the 25th anniversary of India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War, will be graced by Upendrra Rai, Chairman, CMD, and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express News Channel.
The Soldierthon will commence at 6 am, with CMD Upendrra Rai and General VK Singh, former Chief of the Indian Army and Patron of Soldierthon, flagging off the 10 km and 5 km runs.
The event pays tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and valor of the 527 Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War, as well as those who fought valiantly. With an expected turnout of around 7,000 participants, the Soldierthon aims to honor and remember these heroes.
Fitistan, founded by Major Dr. Surendra Poonia, VSM (Ex-Special Forces), and Shilpa Bhagat (Mrs. India World 2013), is a community initiative dedicated to promoting physical and mental fitness among Indians. Fitistan aspires to become the largest community of fit individuals in India.
In memory of the Kargil martyrs, a fitness challenge was launched by ‘Fitistan Ek Fit Bharat’ in association with India Express News Network in early May. This initiative aims to spread awareness about the importance of staying fit and commemorate the sacrifices of the Kargil War heroes.
