Kajari Mahotsav 2026 will bring the soulful traditions and vibrant monsoon folk heritage of Purvanchal to Mumbai.
Organised by Bharat Express News Channel in association with Bhumihar Jagaran Manch, the cultural celebration will highlight Kajari’s musical richness. It will showcase the timeless traditions associated with the folk genre.
Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai will attend the programme as a distinguished guest. He will take part in the lamp-lighting ceremony and address the gathering.
CMD Upendrra Rai will participate in the ceremonial lamp-lighting at 6:00 PM, marking an important moment in the evening’s proceedings. He will address the gathering, adding a special dimension to the celebration of Purvanchal’s cultural legacy.
The evening’s star attraction will be Padma Shri awardee and acclaimed folk singer Malini Awasthi.
Known for her powerful interpretation of India’s folk traditions, Awasthi will enthral audiences with soulful renditions of Kajari, Thumri and other folk compositions. Her performance will bring the emotional character of the monsoon season alive through music, melody and traditional expression.
Kajari Mahotsav 2026 will take place at Sharda Gyanpeeth International School in Malad East, Mumbai, on 22 August 2026 from 4:00 PM onwards.
Several prominent figures from Mumbai’s cultural and social circles will attend the occasion.
With CMD Upendrra Rai’s participation, the ceremonial lamp-lighting and address, alongside Malini Awasthi’s evocative musical presentation, Kajari Mahotsav 2026 promises an evening where heritage meets melody and tradition finds a contemporary stage.
