Bharat Express News Network Chairman, CMD, and Editor-in-Chief, Upendrra Rai, embarked on a significant environmental initiative by planting saplings on his home land today. Accompanied by fellow journalists, Upendrra Rai visited Ashta Shaheed Inter College in Mohammadabad, Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, where he emphasized the vital role of trees and plants. Demonstrating his commitment, Upendrra Rai personally watered the newly planted saplings. During the event, he shared inspiring stories of Mahatma Buddha and Guru Gorakhnath.
Inspiring Words and Actions
As the saplings were planted on the grounds of Ashta Shaheed Inter College, Upendrra Rai quoted Guru Gorakhnath, who advocated for performing all tasks with joy. This encouragement resonated with the participants, infusing enthusiasm into the plantation activity, which was completed in high spirits.
Guru Gorakhnath, a prominent figure of the Middle Ages (11th century) and an Acharya of Hatha Yoga, has numerous inspiring stories associated with him. Known as Mahayogi Gorakhnath, he, along with his guru Guru Matsyendranath (Machhandarnath), organized and expanded the Nath sect. The city of Gorakhpur is named in their honor.
Launch of a Massive Plantation Campaign
At the launch of a large-scale plantation campaign from Ashta Shaheed Inter College, Upendrra Rai underscored the importance of trees for sustaining life. He urged everyone to participate in tree plantation efforts, lauding PM Modi’s tree plantation campaign as a commendable initiative.
Ambitious Goal of Planting Five Lakh Trees
In a press conference, Upendrra Rai announced Bharat Express News Network’s ambitious goal of planting five lakh trees within a year. He called upon all colleagues within the network to actively participate in this green mission.
“I will motivate every colleague of mine to plant trees,” Upendrra Rai stated. “Even when traveling, I will encourage people to plant trees. It’s a simple step forward. Order saplings from nurseries or government efforts and plant them.”
A Call to Honor Nature
Upendrra Rai also emphasized the spiritual connection with nature, advising, “Stand in front of this tree for 15 minutes and bow down to it; it will grow very fast. Every particle of nature speaks. It’s time to give back to nature, and planting trees is a meaningful way to do so.”

In addition to the plantation drive, Upendrra Rai paid homage to Mahavir Hanuman by offering flowers. He also took the opportunity to inspect the campus of Ashta Shaheed Inter College in Ghazipur district, reflecting his holistic approach to environmental and community well-being.
