Bengaluru: SUV Driver Arrested For Stalking, Sexual Harassment And Assault

A 26-year-old SUV driver in Karnataka’s Bengaluru was apprehended for stalking, sexually harassing and assaulting a woman.

A 26-year-old SUV driver in Karnataka’s Bengaluru was apprehended for conducting a heinous act where he stalked, sexually harassed and assaulted a woman. The man executed the crime near the Electronics City area while the six-month pregnant woman was returning from home earlier this week. Subsequent to lodging a complaint against the accused, the officials acted swiftly and arrested the predator.

According to the reports, a woman who works as a nurse confronted the police with her account of an incident in which a man allegedly propositioned her with an offer of Rs 1 lakh for every hour she spent with him. He then proceeded to inappropriately touch her. In response, the nurse struck the accused.

Following this, the accused retaliated by punching her in the face and ear before fleeing the scene. This resulted in the victim experiencing a nosebleed. Despite her injuries, the nurse contacted a colleague for assistance and went to the Electronics City police station to file a complaint.

After receiving the complaint, the Electronics City police initiated an investigation and subsequently apprehended the accused. The individual in question, identified as Avinash, resides near Hebbagodi in Kammasandra and works as a driver for a private company.

A senior official quoted in the Times of India report stated that they had taken a statement from the nurse, named Prema, and proceeded to arrest Avinash with the assistance of CCTV footage. He has been charged with sexual harassment and stalking, and he is currently in judicial custody.

The incident is reported to have occurred on July 29 in the vicinity of the Konappana Agrahara BMTC bus stop. At the time, the victim was on her way home from the healthcare centre where she is employed as a nurse.
