‘Beed’ Tragedy: Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Announces Judicial Probe Into Parbhani Violence

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Friday announced a judicial probe by a retired judge into Parbhani violence. The judicial enquiry has been asked amid the deteriorating law and order due to rising crimes, extortion and land mafia.

Apart from this, a Special Investigation Team (SIT), will conduct a probe into the murder of a young sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh from Beed district. The probes will be completed in the next three to six months of the government will direct the police officials to conduct regular drives to curb crimes.

Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Announces Judicial Probe

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis announced the judicial probe with an aid of Rs 10 lakh to the family of deceased Santosh Deshmukh. Apart from the killing of the sarpanch, CM Fadnavis said that the incident was not limited to one murder.

He further added, “It has deep roots. We will have to end the lawlessness in Beed. Avada Green company has invested big time in Beed and some people are demanding various works or extortion money.”

“The accused went to the company at Massajog village where they first beat the watchman and then the manager. As the accused were from the neighbouring village, people along with Deshmukh beat them. The video went viral”, added Maharashtra CM.

Somnath Suryawanshi’s Death Probe

Fadnavis said that another judicial probe has been ordered into the death of Somnath Suryawanshi. Somanth died after his arrest in connection with the violence in Parbhani over the desecration of a replica of the constitution.

Maharashtra CM further added, “The judicial inquiry into the Parbhani violence will be done to clear all doubts. Ambedkar is not limited to any caste. He belongs to all.”
