Basant Panchami Amrit Snan At Maha Kumbh Prayagraj Witnesses Unwavering Faith Amidst Tight Security

On the occasion of Basant Panchami, the manifestation festival of Goddess Saraswati, millions of devotees gathered at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati in Prayagraj for the Amrit Snan during Maha Kumbh 2025.

Bathed in golden sunlight, the spiritual atmosphere was charged with devotion, drawing a large number of saints, mahatmas, and Kalpvasis to take a holy dip in the holy waters of the Triveni Sangam.

To ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the bathing ritual, the administration rolled out a robust security plan.

A wide array of security personnel, including civil police, traffic police, mounted police, women police, fire brigade, PAC, STF, ATS, NSG commandos, and paramilitary forces, stationed at critical locations across the fairground.

The authorities stationed forces at intersections, pontoon bridges, Akhara routes, and bathing ghats to maintain order.

At the holy Sangam, water police, trained divers, and deep divers kept a close watch, while the personnel from SDRF, NDRF, and Flood Company monitored the waters to ensure the safety of bathers.

The installation of CCTV cameras and drones further aided surveillance across the Mela grounds, all managed from the Integrated Command Control Center.

Public announcements encouraged devotees to follow safety protocols.

The authorities arranged 36 designated parking zones to manage the massive influx of visitors, minimizing walking distances for devotees to reach the bathing ghats.

Leadership Oversight During Basant Panchami Amrit Snan

Senior officers, including ADG Prayagraj Zone Bhanu Bhaskar and Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, personally supervised the arrangements, ensuring efficient crowd control and security measures.

The seamless coordination of various security and administrative bodies contributed to the event’s success.

Senior officers patrolled the area on horseback, and the officials set up lost and found centers to reunite missing persons with their families.

Pilgrims widely appreciated the efforts, expressing gratitude for the smooth experience that allowed them to fully immerse in the spiritual essence of Maha Kumbh.

The grand and secure conclusion of the final Amrit Snan festival marked yet another milestone in this remarkable spiritual gathering.
