Baby Delivered On Road After Ambulance Fails To Reach On Time

On Thursday in Telangana’s Nirmal district, a woman who was expecting gave birth on the side of the road. The incident occurred as a result of the ambulance’s refusal to pick her up, claiming that they were out of diesel. “In Telangana, A Tribal woman gave birth on the road after suffering four hours of hell on the road, due to lack of infrastructure & no roads,” a user wrote in a post on the social media platform X. Any remarks, @SmitaSabharwal ji? This is your father, Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s accomplishment.

The incident took place in Pembi Mandal’s Thulasipet village. According to the woman’s husband, they contacted an ambulance when she went into labour. The ambulance, nevertheless, was unable to get to them. “We even used Google Pay to send $500 for the fuel, but the vehicle did not arrive. The infant was born on the highway.
A second ambulance then arrived, severed the mother’s umbilical cord, and took both the infant and the mother to a nearby hospital. We typically relocate pregnant women a few days in advance to inaccessible isolated locations. However, this was approximately four weeks before the anticipated delivery date, according to Varun Reddy, the collector for the Nirmal district. Delivery was scheduled for September 22.

Additionally, district collector Reddy refuted claims that a diesel scarcity caused the ambulance to miss the woman. “The ambulance did arrive at the scene, but as she was already in labour, they chose to deliver the baby there since she could not be relocated. The mother and child are now doing well at the Khanapur Community Health Centre.
