Budget Provides Social Justice To All sections Of Society: Ramdas Athawale

In 7th Budget as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a series of boosters for various sectors. Presenting the Budget on July 23, she said India’s economic growth continues to be the shining exception and will remain so in the years ahead. However, she noted significant downside risks to growth and upside risks to inflation.

Reacting to the Budget, Ramdas Athawale, National President of the Republican Party of India and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, praised it as the best budget under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term. He emphasized that this budget would benefit all sections of society.

Athawale asserted that the Central Government, through this budget, aims to provide social justice to marginalized sections such as Scheduled Castes/Tribes, backward classes, persons with disabilities, farmers, and laborers. He noted that the budget reflects the government’s commitment to PM Modi’s vision of a developed India.

Highlighting specific allocations, Athawale mentioned that Rs 14,765 crore has been allocated to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, marking an increase from previous budgets. He also announced plans for skill training for 1 crore youth in top 500 companies, with a 12-month Prime Minister’s Internship offering a monthly stipend of Rs 5000.

Budget to boost tourism and employment

Athawale further disclosed plans for the renovation of Vishnupad Temple and Mahabodhi Temple in Gaya district, anticipating a boost to state tourism. He praised this initiative of the Central Government.

Describing the 2024-25 budget as focused on the welfare of the poor, women, youth, and farmers, Athawale highlighted its role in combating inflation and promoting the government’s 9-point agenda, including agricultural productivity, employment, skill training, economic development, inclusive growth, and social justice.

He emphasized that the budget outlines nine priorities aimed at creating ample opportunities for the comprehensive and inclusive development of the nation. Athawale also welcomed the announcement of a high minimum support price for all major crops, fulfilling the promise of a minimum 50% margin over cost for farmers.

Concluding his remarks, Athawale stated that the government’s target is to generate 4 crore jobs for the country’s youth in the coming years, underscoring the budget’s commitment to fostering economic growth and opportunity.
