Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr Dinesh Sharma, called Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s memories a heritage that will guide future generations. Speaking at the Kavi Sammelan during the Atal Shatabdi Jayanti Year Celebration at the Sangeet Natak Academy, he highlighted Atal Ji’s unwavering dedication to the nation.

“Atal Ji put the nation first. He had no attachment to power and believed that principles and duty should always prevail,” Dr Sharma said. He recalled that Atal Ji’s government fell by one vote, but he refused to save it through unprincipled actions.

Atal Ji’s Vision Transformed Infrastructure

Dr Sharma credited Atal Ji for modernizing India’s infrastructure. “The new National Highways and modern roads reflect his development model. His dream of connecting rivers across India was a groundbreaking initiative,” he said.

A Leader Loved Across India

Dr Sharma highlighted Atal Ji’s popularity and cross-party respect. He recalled his iconic speech in Hindi at the United Nations, which strengthened India’s cultural identity. “Atal Ji united the nation, earning love and respect from Kashmir to Kanyakumari,” he said.

Dr Sharma also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for realizing Atal Ji’s dreams.
