Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indian shooter Neeru Dhanda on winning gold in the Women’s Trap event at the Asian Games, describing the achievement as a historic moment for India.
In a post shared by the PMO India, PM Modi said Dhanda had become the first Indian woman to win an individual gold medal in Trap at the Asian Games. He further praised her exceptional accuracy and composure and said her achievement had brought immense pride to the nation.
“Neeru Dhanda has given India a historic moment to celebrate!” PM Modi said, adding that her success would encourage more young sportspersons to take up shooting and aim for the highest honours.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated Dhanda, calling her victory an ‘extraordinary feat’ on her Asian Games debut.
“A Golden Chapter Created!🥇,” Shah wrote in a social media post.
The Minister said Dhanda had become the first Indian shooter to win an individual gold medal in Women’s Trap at the Asian Games.
Shah highlighted that her performance set a new Asian Record and Asian Games Record. He further expressed pride in the shooter’s achievement and congratulated her on the landmark performance.
