Narendra Modi Grand Welcome
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Indonesia on Thursday, September 7th, to attend the ASEAN Summit. In the capital city of Jakarta, Indian expatriates warmly welcomed PM Modi at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. During this reception, Indian expatriates raised slogans of “Modi-Modi,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Our leader, be like Narendra Modi,” while waving the tricolor flag. Additionally, the entire hall echoed with chants of “Modi, Modi, Ghar-Ghar Modi” (Modi in every home).
Prime Minister Modi, who arrived at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, engaged in a conversation with the present Indian expatriates and fondly interacted with children, a video of which is going viral on social media. During this time, PM Modi also took selfies with the Indian expatriates. It’s worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Indonesia to participate in the 18th East Asia Summit and the 20th ASEAN-India Summit.
Prior to this, Prime Minister Modi was officially welcomed by Indonesia’s Minister of Empowerment and Child Protection, Ibu Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, at Jakarta International Airport. Before departing for Indonesia, PM Modi had stated that he would engage in discussions with leaders on practical cooperation and solutions to collectively address global challenges. It should be noted that Prime Minister Modi arrived in Jakarta at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
The ASEAN Summit is a biennial meeting organized by ASEAN member countries to discuss economic, political, security, and socio-cultural development in Southeast Asian countries. Currently, India is not a member of this group.
