The 13th Annual Painting Exhibition, ‘Artism 2024,’ was held in Delhi, bringing together young artists from across the city. Organized by Weldon Art Academy and Maharaja Art and Craft Society at Lodhi Estate, the two-day event saw enthusiastic participation from around 200 children from various schools of Delhi-NCR.
The exhibition featured an array of beautiful artworks, each telling a unique story. Children like Sadyant Kaushal, Aaradhya, Kabir, Krish, and Naira wowed the audience with their vibrant creations. Some painted a rainbow, others depicted birds soaring in the sky, while others captured animals in action. The paintings were as diverse as they were captivating, offering a glimpse into the boundless imagination of the young artists.
One artwork in particular captured everyone’s attention: a painting of two dogs created by 12-year-old Sadyant Kaushal. Using charcoal, he beautifully depicted his pets, Angel and Holly. Sadyant’s piece, titled “Pose and Portrait,” earned praise and an award. His parents, Upendrra Rai (Chairman of Bharat Express) and Dr Rachna Rai, were present at the exhibition, beaming with pride.
When asked about his son’s work, Upendrra Rai shared, “I am naturally proud, but Sadyant is still learning. His journey has just begun. If he keeps honing his skills, he will create even more extraordinary pieces. This event, ‘Artism,’ is making a great impact, nurturing young talent and giving children a platform to showcase their art. Best wishes to Sadyant as he progresses toward abstract art.”
Dr Rachna Rai shared, “Sadyant’s painting perfectly captures the essence of my beloved dogs. He created it with so much love and attention. If he had been forced to paint something else, it might not have come out so beautifully. As he matures, he will explore more styles, including abstract art.”
Sadyant explained, “I love my dogs, Angel and Holly, so much. They cheer me up every day. I made this charcoal painting to express my feelings for them.” He thanked Amrita Kaur Taluja, Creative Head of Weldon Academy, for providing him the opportunity to showcase his art.
For the first time, Weldon Academy displayed black and white charcoal paintings in the exhibition. Amrita Kaur Taluja praised Sadyant’s work, calling it “an emotional picture” that captured the deep bond between him and his pets.
On the second day of the exhibition, prominent figures like CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta and Delhi Police DCP Vikram K. Porwal attended. They honored the talented children, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
At the end of the two-day event, the children’s paintings were celebrated for their creativity, and the organizers were commended for their role in nurturing the artistic potential of young minds.
