Arjun Modhwadia Meets Amit Shah; Discusses Ahmedabad Science City Expansion

Gujarat Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed the proposed expansion of Ahmedabad Science City and plans to strengthen Gujarat’s science, innovation and technology ecosystem.

During the meeting, Modhwadia sought Shah’s guidance on proposed projects, advanced facilities and initiatives that could offer young people richer and more engaging scientific experiences.

The discussions focused on further developing Science City as part of Gujarat’s broader vision of becoming a world-class hub for science, innovation and technology.

Shah provided guidance on the proposed projects and modern facilities aimed at increasing the younger generation’s exposure to science and technology.

The discussions come as Gujarat expands its technology-driven infrastructure and focuses on emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, cybersecurity and smart infrastructure.

The meeting with Shah came days after Modhwadia met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on August 4.

During the meeting at Parliament House, Modhwadia thanked the Prime Minister for approving the Centre’s mega shipbuilding project in Porbandar, which could attract around ₹27,500 crore in investment.

Modhwadia has previously highlighted the importance of central support for Gujarat’s development initiatives.

In December 2025, Modhwadia met PM Modi in New Delhi to discuss India’s 2047 development vision and Gujarat’s goals.

At the Viksit Gujarat Summit 2026, Arjun Modhwadia highlighted AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity and smart infrastructure as key growth drivers.

As Science and Technology Minister, Modhwadia is also backing the proposed Science City expansion to promote innovation and scientific awareness.
