Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared on Monday that any terror attack in the Union Territory will be considered an act of war. He made the statement while addressing the passing out parade of police officers at the Udhampur Police Academy.

L-G Sinha said India had responded firmly to Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists. “We have given them a lesson,” he stated.

Jammu and Kashmir L-G further emphasised that the government’s top priority remains the complete elimination of terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir.

“Our police warriors must adopt a multi-pronged approach by harnessing intelligence, community engagement, and technology,” he added.

He also called for innovative solutions to counter disinformation and cyber threats originating from across the border.

The Governor reviewed the parade of 49 probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) and 1,112 probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs). He congratulated them and extended best wishes for their service.

“J&K Police, operating under tough conditions, is playing a key role in the nation’s internal security and the safety of its citizens,” he noted.

He urged officers to make use of AI tools and modern technology to tackle challenges such as deepfakes and cross-border propaganda.

Highlighting the cultural ethos, he said police must uphold values like truth, justice, law, and governance to ensure peace and stability.

The new recruits will undergo field training before taking on full responsibilities.
