The government’s expansive outreach initiative, ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra,’ achieved a significant milestone on Friday by engaging with 10 crore individuals, with 7.5 crore of them committing to contribute to India’s development by 2047, according to officials.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur highlighted the remarkable involvement of 10 crore Indians in this journey of India’s progress, which commenced on November 15 and reached this milestone in just 50 days.
Thakur emphasized that the belief exhibited by these 10 crore individuals would continue to amplify, connecting more Indians with public welfare programs and playing a vital role in realizing the vision of a developed India.

He stated, “Advancing towards a developed India… 28 states, 50 days, 10 crore participants, One Goal—Developed India.”
Earlier statements from Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apurva Chandra indicated that the yatra, initiated on November 15 of the previous year, aimed to engage with over 14 crore people by its conclusion on January 25.
Chandra highlighted the deployment of 3,500 outreach vans on the ground, disseminating information about government schemes to citizens. He also noted that health camps had become a significant draw during the yatra, with over 2.2 crore individuals receiving screenings at these events.
The official statement noted, “Since its launch on November 15, 2023, over 7.5 crore individuals have pledged their ‘Sankalp’—a commitment to building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
Highlighting the vast participation in the yatra, the statement compared the number of participants to the populations of several countries like Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, and South Africa.
Moreover, the statement revealed that more than 7.5 lakh beneficiaries availed benefits under the PM SVANidhi scheme, taking steps toward financial independence. Additionally, over 33 lakh new PM KISAN beneficiaries were enrolled during the yatra.
The yatra also conducted more than 87,000 drone demonstrations to showcase technological assistance available to farmers.
