“Their Ancestors Called the Backward, Dalits, and Deprived People Fools”
Thakur further asserted that the ancestors of the opposition used derogatory terms for the backward, Dalits, and deprived people of the country. He accused those who have benefited from their legacy of reacting poorly when faced with challenging questions, thereby making a fool of themselves by spreading lies.

Mention of Rajiv Gandhi’s Statement
On Thursday, August 1, Union Minister Anurag Thakur sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by referencing a statement made by former PM Rajiv Gandhi. Thakur claimed that the Congress’s ancestors referred to the backward classes as “idiots.” He cited a news article from March 3, 1985, where Rajiv Gandhi allegedly said that “idiots will not be promoted in the name of reservation.” Thakur concluded by saying, “If the matter has come out, it will go a long way.”
