Five to seven homes have collapsed in the Krishna Nagar area of Shimla due to another landslip. There are no reports of individuals getting trapped as of yet. Shimla’s deputy commissioner is Aditya Negi.
Incessant rainfall
“After a landslip occurred, some homes collapsed as a result of the extreme rainfall. Some locals might be stranded. At the scene are an ambulance, the NDRF, SDRF, the State, and the District Police. The extent of the loss has not yet been determined. Rescue efforts are in progress”, according to Shimla SP Sanjeev Gandhi.

Increasing death toll
52 people have now died as a result of occurrences including landslides, cloudbursts, and home collapse brought on by severe rains since Monday, according to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The Chief Minister also stated that there may be an increase in fatalities.
About 55 people have died in the state thus far, according to the chief minister. The death toll could increase. Restoration work is being done with military precision. New arterial highways and a four-lane motorway between Chandigarh and Shimla opened.

In the meantime, two more bodies were discovered today amid the ruins of a destroyed Shiv temple in Shimla. Rescuers worried that 10 more victims may still be trapped there as the number of people killed in Himachal Pradesh’s rainstorm since Sunday night increased to 53, according to the official statements.
The officials reported that there have now been 16 fatalities at the twin landslip locations in Shimla’s Summer Hill and Fagli.
Since Sunday, heavy rains have pounded Himachal Pradesh, causing landslides, cloudbursts, and traffic blockages as well as cases of house collapse.
Rescue operations underway

According to Shimla’s Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Army, police, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) commenced rescue operations at Summer Hill at 6 am.
Since the start of the monsoon on June 24 till August 14, the state has experienced damages of $7,171 crore, according to the state emergency management center.
This monsoon season, there have been 170 reported instances of cloudbursts and landslides in the state, causing damage to 9,600 homes.
